We are an association of queer people and allies in Offenbach.

We stand up for an open, diverse and solidarity-based city community. Together we shape the CSD Offenbach and many more projects — for equal rights, safety and visible queer life in our city.

Whether at actions, in working groups or simply getting to know us: there is room here for everyone who wants to help shape things.

On 2 July 2026, Journal Frankfurt reported on the first Christopher Street Day in Offenbach. In the interview, our chairman Hendrik Klemme describes the planned programme as "combative, demanding, substantive and intersectional". Almost 50 people came to the very first organizing meeting in March — "It seemed as if everyone had just been waiting for this".

The association decided to hold the CSD in the same year: on 19 September 2026, with a demonstration march, a parade and a street festival with stages on Mathildenplatz, plus workshops and panels. Inclusion, accessibility and a diverse stage programme matter to us. The recent rise in attacks on queer people was another trigger. The event is under the patronage of Offenbach's mayor Felix Schwenke; a crowdfunding campaign is running to finance it (goal: 13,000 euros).

On 1 July 2026, the Offenbach-Post reported on the first Christopher Street Day in Offenbach. The CSD Offenbach association, founded in May 2026, is planning a demonstration through the city centre, a parade and a street festival with a stage programme for 19 September 2026 — for the rights, visibility and equality of queer people.

The article presents our motto "Queer OF course" and our rainbow squirrel, and points to the queer Stammtisch (every second Monday, 6–8 pm, Stadtteilbüro Mathildenplatz). People and groups are wanted to join in — with a stand, a speech or as artists. The association is also asking for donations for the stage, tech, security and accessibility.

On 20 June 2026, the Offenbach-Post published an in-depth report on the situation of the queer community in Offenbach. The occasion is the recent series of attacks in which gay men were lured into an ambush via dating apps and assaulted. The article places these acts within a state-wide trend.

The figures from the Hesse State Criminal Police Office are clear: where 23 anti-queer crimes were recorded in 2020, last year there were already 141 — a sixfold increase in just five years. On average, only about one in three reported cases is solved, and the number of unreported cases is high: according to an EU study, around 87% of queer people don't report assaults at all.

The report reaches a conclusion we share: anti-queer hostility is a society-wide problem — and meeting it takes, above all, education and visibility. Those quoted include the city's anti-discrimination officer and the contact person for queer people at the Southeast Hesse Police Headquarters.

It's finally happening: the CSD Offenbach association has been founded. Offenbach's first Christopher Street Day is planned for 19.09.2026.

On 12.05.2026 the association's founding meeting took place with a total of 32 members. Registration in the register of associations is currently being prepared.

CSD Offenbach stands up for equal rights, social participation and the visibility of LGBTQIA+ people in Offenbach. The goal of the association is to counter prejudice, discrimination and stereotypes, and to make queer life more visible across the city and district.

Planning by the volunteer organising team for Offenbach's first Christopher Street Day on 19.09.2026 is currently in full swing — it is set to take place as a demonstration with an accompanying cultural programme.

At the founding assembly, the board was also elected. It consists of six people:

Anti-queer violence is on the rise in Germany. Cases are now also occurring in Offenbach in which gay men are lured via dating apps and then violently attacked. The Offenbach Post article of 15 June 2026, titled "Seven cases in Offenbach: gangs lure gay men into ambush via dating app", shows:

Anti-queer violence is nothing new for queer people. But the latest development is alarming.

As CSD Offenbach, this matters to us:

Violence against queer people cannot be solved by blaming or excluding people with a migration background. The cause is patriarchal structures. These shape a toxic image of masculinity. This image is so fragile that queer ways of life are perceived as a threat. This is exactly where we have to start.

Hendrik Klemme, Chair of CSD Offenbach, says:
